Meet Dr. Bala S. Chandrasekhar

Dr. Chandrasekhar practices the full spectrum of plastic surgery, including the latest innovations in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. He is Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been in practice for over 25 years. He is a highly respected Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California and Chief of Staff at Arcadia Methodist Hospital. He is also affiliated with Pasadena Huntington Hospital and Pomona Valley Hospital. Dr. Chandrasekhar has an excellent name in the medical community for his skills, standards and ethics.

He completed his undergraduate and medical education in India and his general surgery residency at the Maimonides Medical Center in New York, followed by his plastic surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Since completing his training, he quickly achieved high level positions in the field of plastic surgery which have enhanced his clinical practice success. His work has been featured on The Learning Channel, Discovery Channel, CNN and other major networks. He is a member of numerous organizations including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

As part of his dedication to the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Chandrasekhar has written many articles for scientific journals and publications. He is also a humanitarian and his achievements in volunteer medicine have been profoundly enriching experiences. He has performed many volunteer surgeries through organizations such as Operation Smile, Flying Doctors of Mercy, Smile Train and local hospitals. He has traveled around the world giving lectures and made many trips to Third World countries, operating on those whose lives have been transformed by his work.
